This cake is very easy to prepare and is very good.

Ingredients

Wheat:

  • half a packet of slices of toast Mulino Bianco

Syrup:

  • 300 g sugar
  • 400 ml water

Cream:

  • 1 l milk
  • 6 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 sachet of vanilla sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 6 tablespoons flour
  • 2 tablespoons starch

For decoration:

  • 200 ml liquid cream
  • sliced ​​fruit (banana, strawberry or kiwi)
  • nuts, hazelnuts, coconut, almond flakes or pistachios

Method of preparation

Put the pan with the sugar on the fire and let it melt until it caramelizes. When the sugar is melted and turns brown, add hot water and stir until boiling. After 5 minutes, turn off the heat and let the syrup cool for 10 minutes.

In a rectangular or square tray we place the slices of bread next to each other and then we syrup them with the prepared syrup.

To prepare the cream, mix the ingredients in a pan and put it on the fire. Stir continuously with the whisk until the cream starts to boil and thickens like a pudding. At the end add the vanilla sugar or vanilla essence and a tablespoon of butter. Let the cream cool for 5 minutes, then pour it over the top of the bread and level the cream with a spatula.

After the cream has cooled well, we can place the fruit slices and whipped cream on top. Cover the cake with cling film and leave it in the fridge for a few hours, the cake is better if it stays in the fridge until the next day.

Garnish the cake as desired with coconut, pistachio or hazelnut flakes.
